1. Introduction

These terms and conditions govern your use of the website operated by The Air Conditioning People ("we", "our", "us") and the air conditioning installation and maintenance services we provide. By using our website or booking a service, you agree to these terms in full.

2. Our Services

We provide air conditioning installation, maintenance, and related services for residential and commercial properties across the United Kingdom. All services are carried out by qualified, F-Gas certified engineers.

3. Quotes and Pricing

• Online quotes for single room installations are provided based on the information you supply. The quoted price is fixed, provided the information given is accurate.
• For multi-room and commercial projects, quotes are provided following a survey (video or on-site) and remain valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
• All prices include VAT unless otherwise stated.
• If, upon arrival, our engineer discovers that the information provided during the quote process was materially inaccurate (e.g. incorrect room dimensions, undisclosed access issues), we reserve the right to revise the quote before commencing work.

4. Booking and Payment

• Bookings are confirmed once full payment or an agreed deposit has been received.
• Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept major credit and debit cards.
• Finance options may be available and are subject to separate terms from our finance provider.

5. Cancellation and Rescheduling

• You may cancel or reschedule your installation free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled date.
• Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled date may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover committed costs.
• Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of booking for online purchases. If installation has already been completed within this period at your request, the right to cancel is limited.

6. Installation

• You must provide safe and clear access to the installation area. Any obstructions that prevent or delay installation are your responsibility.
• You confirm that you have the necessary permissions (landlord consent, leasehold permissions, planning approval if applicable) for the installation to proceed.
• We will carry out all work in accordance with relevant building regulations, F-Gas regulations, and industry best practices.
• Minor cosmetic work (such as making good around pipework holes) is included. Significant building or decorating work is not included unless specified in the quote.

7. Warranty

• All installations come with a 5-year warranty covering parts, labour, and refrigerant from the date of installation.
• The warranty is valid provided the system is used in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines and is serviced annually by a qualified engineer.
• The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, unauthorised modifications, or Acts of God.
• Manufacturer warranties may apply in addition to our installation warranty and are subject to the manufacturer's own terms.

8. Liability

• We carry comprehensive public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
• Our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the value of the contract.
• We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from our services.
• Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and design, is owned by The Air Conditioning People and protected by UK copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our written permission.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
